Your profile:

Stress Engineer Cabin Interior (m/w) in Aerospace

An outstanding opportunity for a Stress engineer with linear/Non-linear stress calculation and hand calculations to work on the Aircraft Cabin Interior. Work on lightweight materials, glass and carbon fiber and honeycomb sandwich materials required.
Your tasks
  • Perform detailed stress analysis of aircraft cabin or cargo components, by classical hand analysis as well as Finite Element methods, to support the structural design efforts of new and modified components from the conceptual phase to development and certification
  • Design and verification of aircraft interior structures in fiber composites and lightweight construction principles
  • Develop or review structural qualification plans in accordance with Airbus standards and regulatory requirements
  • Review and approve vendor drawings, stress reports, and test reports when delegated
  • Creation and validation of testing-documents and conduction of interior tests
  • Checking and certification of supplier interface load reports, structure justification reports and static test plans for various cabin interior equipment. Creating interface load reports and structure justification / substantiation reports
  • Coordinate with design engineers, team lead, suppliers and technical management personnel to assure that the design meets or exceeds the project deliverables and complies with the regulatory requirements
  • Coordination of tasks like coordination between customers and suppliers
  • Participate in regularly scheduled design reviews, and is responsible to present stress findings and challenge design solutions
Your profile
  • Successfully completed university degree with a focus on Lightweight Structures, Aircraft Structures, Mechanical engineering or similar with specializing in Structural Mechanics
  • Minimum 3 yrs. experience in Aircraft Interiors structural analysis
  • Position requires in-depth knowledge of Engineering Mechanics and Strength of Materials.
  • Experience with NASTRAN / PATRAN / ANSYS / ISSY / HYPERWORKS

Stress Engineer Concessions (m/w) in Aerospace.

Your tasks:
  • The job involves the analysis of CFRP/Metallic aircraft structure where a report of a manufacturing non-conformance or divergence from drawing is received. The engineer will perform analysis using standard stressing methods to develop structural justifications for repairs and remedial actions
  • Investigation of stress data, extensive liaison with Manufacturing Support Design Engineers, Manufacturing Operations and other departments as required to produce optimum design solutions. Ensure Structural integrity of solutions to Manufacturing issues
  • The role requires the engineer to show a proactive and flexible approach to problem solving, formulating static justifications using a variety of skills and tools including use of FEM, hand calculations, Airbus Methods/techniques/programmes to evaluate the structure
  • Liaise with the F&DT / Static methods and data groups in order to ensure that methods, assumptions, data and procedures reflect on-going developments
  • Carry out static stress calculations to assess design solutions for a range of tasks, ranging from modifications to manufacturing concessions against the Aircraft Design requirements
  • Working on concessions for other engineering defects such as design or materials defects, determine repairs and provide substantiation
Your profile:
  • Successfully completed university degree with a focus on Lightweight Structures, Aircraft Structures, Mechanical engineering or similar with specializing in Structural Mechanics
  • A minimum of 5 yrs. working as an engineer, preferably in the aircraft industry, involved in static and/or fatigue analysis of CFRP/Metallic structures
  • Experience in using stress analysis tools (Nastran, Patran, ISAMI, Safe, Datig, ISSY DYNFEST and DAMTOL). Proficient with excel/VBA Macros
  • An understanding of the fundamental method of analysis for static stressing together with the ability to develop these methods and to apply them to structural analysis problems arising from manufacturing non-conformities
  • A good understanding of aircraft production methods and processes, similar manufacturing support activities, ability to interpret production drawings and non-conformity documentation
  • The ability to rapidly and confidently assess structural problems under pressure and to provide the appropriate direction
  • Experience in dealing with Airworthiness regulations (FAR/JAR, Certification)
  • Fluent in written and spoken English, German language skills beneficial
